AGE - ENGLISH POEM
It was dusk to fall, sun was about to sink
Precisely it was the evening of
my barren life.
The life which was almost boiled
down
In hundreds of frowns in her
brow!
The outgoing sun tripped and
felled
In thousands of wrinkles on her forehead!
Keeping the snuffing sun into
dock
Reminding me the ante-natal
association,
She has a piercing question for
me
“What’s your age?”
Probably she was asking about
life span I spent
As I have no age, I m orthodox.
Even then Mind moved gently
Through the strings of heart
unwittingly
And I banded about my age
effortlessly.
“It’s two or four moments, four
or two steps
Not beyond that.
Moments spared with you
When you were absolutely hollow
for me
Steps forwarded towards you
When you brought to a stop!”
Yes! Enough! That’s my life span
Otherwise residue, I don’t know
what.
She seems now busy in her
calculations
When in life she became hollow
And she brought to stop ever!
