 ENGLISH POEMS

                                                 SILENCE!

Mind was ruined
Devastated the thatch of it
It was splintered into smithereens
All around throughout my body!

Pungent vestiges were only alive
Besides the frame of soil!
So- called skeletons were hung about
In the nook of this broken house
Parents, siblings, love, spite, avarice, deception etc
Taking the shelter of girders broken!

I was helplessly whacking clumps of clay
On the mounds of the sand
Uselessly with dejected eyes and frozen lids
Making myself a lump of soil!

You came such time lending your hands
Spilling mercy on the cheeks
Oozing from your radiant eyes!

You laid your hand on my shoulder
Stroking it fondling me
You said a lot without words , lulled me
Gave me relief
Scooping out the heaps of brickbats and soil
Blessed me, turned me into homely

All came to fruition
And nothing affliction remained in the way.

And then ---
There was only one answer
For thousand hundreds of questions
Raised in my mind
Thousand millions meanings hidden in the core of
Silence!
Inscrutable Silence!
And that too with ease!
