MIND AND THE SKY
ENGLISH POEMS |
With congenial eyesI looked at her,She was no less
Than the moon in the sky!She was enchantingAlluring and winsome!
It was a pleasant evening; nightfallThe time of meeting the night with the dayThe day wished total merger in nightLike me; after hard work the entire day.
The full moon was arrived in the skySpreading to the universe silent moonbeams! It was a perfect circle filled up of vivacitySpirit got pored through moonlight! It was totally seductive Pushed the day in oblivion!
While giggling with the moon
She nudged me asking, “A sari I want very soon!”I lost in regular thinking.
Her anger burst into actionBefore I harp on recalculations!
I could hear the tantrum in the kitchen
Clashing of utensils, smashing one by oneNight had arrived and I was shattered.
In grouse, I tried to connect with moonIt had turned into different world, Broken like me, not for boon.It could not grow attached meIt was neither charming nor winsome anymore.
Hours and hours went idle through.
I couldn’t converse with it, wanted though
I kicked it and entered the kitchen with very eagerI was as suffering now pangs of hunger.
It was deadly silence and many broken cupsWith a broken heart, I returned up.
I found the moon like round thick breadYummily delicious, thick chutney smeared
Morning I tried to locate the moon
Mind said “It remains in me and not in sky!”
