I AM SLAVE - ENGLISH POEMS
ENGLISH POEMS |
I AM SLAVE!
I am slave
I am slave of my emotions,
Slave of lust and slave of
appetite!
Still color and relish rule me,
Shapes and words bide me.
I m bidden by taste. Hate and
Love still binding
Tactile matters still existing.
This is just body, hands and
chest with two legs
Rather scarecrow, one earthen
pot in two pegs.
I am talking of those golden
moments
When it reached to my ear,
All cordons of outlanders
dropped off.
Closely in that midnight,
I looked at my hands, looked at
my legs.
Neither fetters nor shackles in
ankles
Wrists without handcuffs
No load on my head, No yoke on
my neck.
A first sigh in free air
Bestowed relief first and
foremost!
I gushed off the bed
Yelped spontaneously,” I am
free! I am independent!”
A cobra spirited in the void of
mind
Hissed questions with expanded
hood,
Hundreds of thousand answers
Revealed into mind to calm me
down!
Every decade then after raised
same questions
Every decade then after followed
same conclusions!
Me obsessed by hunger and thirst
Obsessed by demons
Demons of dreams, demons of
ambition
Desires, worries and many a lot!
I have become the machine
spiritless
Preserving myself as if just
being!
‘Just Being’! I m just being.
Shackles and handcuffs still
existing
Yokes and loads still pressing
Loaded on my body till the
golden moment
Loaded now in my mind!
What exactly it meant
When I was declared as
independent?
I am talking of that golden
moment.
